Biblical Deliverance Breaks Every Chain… So Why Are So Many Still Bound?

Now listen, I want you to really think about this with me, because this is one of those things that a lot of people say they believe, a lot of people repeat, a lot of people post about, a lot of people shout about, but when you actually slow down and look at real lives, you start seeing something that does not match what people are claiming. We say that Yeshua sets the captives free, we say chains are broken, we say deliverance is real, we say demons have to go, we say freedom is available—and all of that is true—but then you turn around and you look at the people saying it and you still see cycles, you still see patterns, you still see the same struggles repeating, the same reactions, the same bondage dressed up in different language, and if we are going to be honest, that should stop us long enough to ask the question instead of pretending we do not see it.

Because the issue is not that the Word is wrong, and the issue is not that Yeshua lacks power, and the issue is not that deliverance somehow “doesn’t work.” The issue is that people are trying to receive something they are not actually aligned to walk in, and if we do not say that plainly, we are going to keep watching people sit in cycles while calling it freedom.

Now when we go to the Word, we are not guessing about this. Yeshua Himself made it clear what He came to do. He said He came to proclaim release to the captives, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and when you look at His ministry, you do not see Him negotiating with demons, you do not see Him tolerating bondage, you see Him confronting it and removing it. So we have to settle that first—deliverance is not optional, and it is not theoretical, it is part of the Gospel. But the mistake people make is they think because something can be broken, it will automatically stay broken without anything changing in them, and that is where everything starts falling apart.

People say they want freedom, but they do not want surrender. And I am not talking about what they say out loud, I am talking about what their life shows. They want the anxiety gone, but they still hold onto control. They want the addiction broken, but they still return to the environment that feeds it. They want peace, but they still rehearse every thought that produces chaos. They want deliverance, but they resist correction the moment it touches something they do not want to let go of. And so what happens is they come into moments where something actually breaks, but because nothing underneath has shifted, they walk right back into what they just left.

And this is exactly why Yeshua tied freedom to abiding, not visiting. He said if you abide in My Word, then you are My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. That word abide matters, because it means remain, continue, stay, dwell. Not hear it once, not agree with it emotionally, not get excited about it in a moment—live in it. So when someone steps out of that and then wonders why they feel bound again, it is not because freedom failed, it is because they stepped out of the very place where freedom is sustained.

Now let’s go another layer deeper, because this is where it starts getting uncomfortable if someone actually wants truth. A lot of people are still bound because they are still in agreement with what is binding them. And I need you to hear that correctly, because agreement is not always loud. Sometimes it is repeated language, sometimes it is internal belief, sometimes it is what you default to when pressure hits. When someone keeps saying, “This is just who I am,” “I will always struggle with this,” “I can’t help it,” “this is how I’ve always been,” they are not just describing their situation, they are reinforcing it. Scripture says you are snared by the words of your mouth, and people do not realize how often they are helping rebuild what they are asking Elohim to break.

And this ties directly into what you were just teaching, because you cannot pray for deliverance and then spend the rest of your day speaking death over yourself and expect to stay free. It does not work like that. You cannot renounce fear in prayer and then rehearse fear in conversation. You cannot rebuke rejection and then constantly speak like someone who believes they are rejected. The tongue is not neutral, and if it stays in agreement with darkness, it will keep feeding what should have died.

But it does not stop there, because even deeper than that, some people have never had their inner man actually healed. So even when something is broken spiritually, their mind and emotions are still wired to return to the same patterns. They still think like the old version of themselves. They still interpret everything through rejection, through fear, through abandonment, through trauma. So what happens is they step into a moment of freedom, but their unhealed soul pulls them right back into what feels familiar. And that is why Scripture says He restores the soul, not just removes the spirit that was tormenting it. Because if the soul is not restored, the person will keep living out of what was broken.

And now we have to deal with the part that people really do not want to hear, because this is where a lot of teaching gets watered down. If sin is still being protected, the door is still open. Deliverance is not a shortcut around obedience. If someone is still justifying what YHWH calls sin, still hiding it, still returning to it, still refusing to let it go, then they are reopening what they are asking to be closed. And I am not talking about someone who is fighting and falling and getting back up, I am talking about someone who is holding onto it and calling it something else. Because freedom cannot stay where rebellion is being maintained.

And then right behind that is identity, because if someone gets free but still believes they are who they were, they will go back to it. If they still see themselves as broken, rejected, addicted, unworthy, then when pressure comes, they will respond from that identity. Deliverance removes what was attached, but identity determines what you walk in next. If identity is not renewed, the old life still feels normal, and people will return to what feels normal faster than they will fight for what is true.

So when you put all of this together, what you start seeing is that the problem is not that chains cannot be broken. The problem is that people are trying to live free without alignment. They want the result without surrender, freedom without obedience, breakthrough without renewal, authority without identity, and it does not work like that. Yeshua did not die so people could have moments. He died so people could be transformed, and transformation requires alignment in every area—what you believe, what you speak, how you live, what you tolerate, what you obey, and who you understand yourself to be.

And this is why some people go from deliverance to deliverance to deliverance and never actually walk in sustained freedom, because they are chasing moments instead of becoming aligned. They are looking for something to happen to them instead of allowing Elohim to change what is in them. And until that shifts, the cycle will keep repeating.

So the answer is not another emotional experience. The answer is not louder prayers. The answer is not more intense moments. The answer is alignment with truth, alignment with the Word, alignment with obedience, alignment with identity, alignment with surrender, and when those things come into place, freedom does not just visit, it remains.

Now this is where it becomes personal, because you cannot just read this and move on. You have to actually ask yourself, where have I been asking for freedom while still holding onto what keeps me bound? Where have I been agreeing with something I should have renounced? Where has my mouth been reinforcing something I have been praying against? Where have I resisted correction? Where have I avoided the truth? Where have I tried to walk in freedom without actually surrendering?

Because the moment you get honest right there is the moment things can actually begin to break and stay broken.

And that is where real deliverance lives.
